Casa,Marrakesh....

Morocco,

Well it’s hot.

It’s also very damn interesting. Apparently western men or perhaps all men coming here are in desperate need of Viagra and “Aphrodisiacs” because as we walk through the Souks men lean out of their stalls promising to end my impotence and provide me with the best sex drive I might possibly have. Which is good to know, I think. If I find myself in the sudden need for such things its nice to know I wouldn’t need to subject myself to a medical doctors judgmental eyes and prodding hands, I can simply wander the market in the medina and listen for the calls of the spice and herbs salesmen.

Sadly most of these stalls also have caged turtles, chameleons and other animals including Falcons. Judging on the numbers of all that are dead and available in powder form I might venture a guess that these are my cures. Perhaps its me, but I never thought of turtles as having a heightened sex drive. Again I never really had them as pets so I cant say for certain.

Manou and I are doing OK, I seem to have packed for a trip we are most certainly not on having forgotten a great many things that I would never forget including ALL my cables or my cameras and card readers. I am typing this as the very friendly young woman who runs the internet café next to our guesthouse burns a cd or two for me of my files.

Frankly it’s both frustrating and embarrassing that I left these behind. I have never done that and am damn sure I will not do so again.

Moving on.

The food here is as good or better than you would hope. So are the people in general. I am starting to take pictures but it was doing so that alerted me to all the parts, pieces and items that I am missing have broken or didn’t even know I needed. Not an auspicious beginning but it is the one I have made up for myself.

Thankfully Manou has one of those frustratingly easy going attitudes that make it much harder for me to stay angry or depressed at the issues I am having.

At least I am not impotent.

We are moving on to Essoueira today as soon as I am done running from place to place trying to get my gear sorted.

Is this a family blog? Glad to see you are posting and still having Daventures. And speaking as your Mother, may I say that it's nice to hear that you need neither crushed turtle nor viagra. By the way, the really large tortoises can, as your brother would say, mate for hours. FYI and ILU
